  The semi-dry calender forms a pressure area on the semi-dry paper sheets on the drying part to improve smoothness of the paper sheets and obtain more uniform thickness, so that the paper sheets can be properly contacted with the drying cylinder.  The semi-dry calender uses two hard rolls or a combination of a hard roll and a soft roll. The cladding materials must have extremely good wearing resistant, high-temperature resistant, heat resistant and ageing-curing resistant properties.
